PINE PLAINS – Jean E. Wesdorp, 68, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep, at home in Pine Plains, on March 18, 2015. She was born in New Rochelle, N.Y. in 1946.
She was the daughter of William and Elaine Standing. She leaves behind her husband, Tom, her daughters Amy and Alison, her sisters Kathy and Maureen, three grandchildren Emma, Jack, and Sean, and a large extended family and many friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Bill. She worked in child care, in special education, and later in life, she was an LPN and worked as a private duty nurse taking care of several local residents. She enjoyed 10 years of retirement and loved being with her grandchildren. She and her husband were experienced campers and could often be foundwith their dog, Bailey, paddling their kayaks in the Adirondacks or camping on Cape Cod. She was known locally as the lady with the dog in the “protest car.” She left us too soon. A private celebration of her life will be held by the family in the near future. The family suggests that donations may be made to any local animal shelter or SPCA in her name.
