Poughkeepsie man arrested for possession of cocaine following traffic stop

Poughkeepsie, New York – On January 19, 2018, the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Steven M. Vollaro, age 38, of Poughkeepsie, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, a class D felony, and Driving While Ability Impaired, a violation.

On January 19, 2018, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Troopers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Vollaro on Vassar Road in the town of Poughkeepsie for violations of the vehicle and traffic law.  An investigation revealed Vollaro was in possession of approximately 1.2 grams of cocaine and operating the vehicle while his ability was impaired.

Vollaro was arraigned before the town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
