Bronx man arrested for illegal handgun following traffic stop

Fishkill, New York – On January 11, 2018, the New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Brandon L. Burgess, of Bronx, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd degree, an unclassified misdemeanor.
On January 11, 2018, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Troopers observed a 2004 Chevrolet operated by the later identified suspect Burgess, commit a violation of the vehicle and traffic law on Interstate 84 in the town of Fishkill. Investigation at the traffic stop found that Burgess had a suspended license and an illegal loaded handgun.
Burgess was arraigned before the town of Fishkill Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
