CLARK COUNTY, Wash. (KPTV) — A tragic crash early Saturday morning in Clark County left an 18-year-old passenger dead and a 19-year-old driver hospitalized, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
The accident occurred just after midnight on Northeast Reilly Road near Northeast 284th Avenue. Authorities say they received a 911 call reporting an unconscious passenger inside a vehicle that had crashed into a tree.
Emergency Response and Fatal Outcome
Deputies and emergency personnel arrived quickly and began CPR on the passenger, but despite their efforts, the 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family.
The 19-year-old driver was transported to a local hospital. Their current condition has not been disclosed.
Crash Investigation Underway
Initial investigations suggest the car was traveling eastbound on Northeast Reilly Road when it veered off the roadway and collided with a tree. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no details have been released yet regarding potential contributing factors such as speed, impairment, or road conditions.
