BEEKMAN – Harold C. Roberts, 87, a resident of Beekman since 1970 and formerly of the Bronx, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in the New York City on June 4, 1927, he was the son of the late George and Hilda (Ogden) Roberts. On June 24, 1950 in the Bronx, he married Elizabeth Rowlands who predeceased him on September 16, 2012.
Harold proudly served our country in the US Navy during WW II. He had been employed by 5 Towns Refrigeration in New York City until his retirement in 1992.
Harold is survived by his daughters, Victoria Marz and her husband Kenneth of Waltham, MA, Regina Fortino and her husband Dennis of Weston, CT, and Roberta Roberts of Hyde Park; his grandchildren, Diana Marz, Robert Marz, Lillian (Fortino) and her husband George Tsahirides, and Joseph Fortino; and his sister, Florence Borgerson of NC.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 9-11 am at, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 12 pm at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne followed by interment with military honors.
