Daniel Victor Purdy, age 31, died at home on Wednesday, March 18th, 2015, surrounded by loved ones, after a valiant struggle with cancer.

Born in Mount Kisco, NY and raised in Pawling, NY, Dan was a technology expert, a passionate artist, writer, and athlete. Dan attended Lyndon State University and SUNY Plattsburgh where he ran Cross Country. Dan lived in Brooklyn, where he thrived and never took a day for granted. His sharp wit and humor guided him as he challenged the status quo and inspired others to live and love fearlessly. Dan’s life tragically ended too soon, but the lessons we learned from him will endure.

Daniel is survived by his daughter, Eliza, his partner, Alexandra Genco, his parents, Catherine and Victor Purdy, his sister, Alicia Purdy, his brother-in-law, Jacob Schauer, his niece, Mila and nephew, Rowan, Grandmother Alicia Hill and Grandmother June Purdy, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation is Friday, March 20th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21st at 10 AM at St. John’s the Evangelist, 31 East Main Street, Pawling.
