UPDATE – New York State Police and Hyde Park Police Department investigate suspicious death

Hyde Park, New York – On March 17, 2015 at approximately 10:00 a.m., New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, members of the Hyde Park Police Department, and Uniform Troopers were dispatched to the former Hudson River Psychiatric Center, located on Cheney Drive in the Town of Hyde Park, for a reported suspicious death.
Employees of the New York State Office of Mental Health discovered a deceased female located on the property in the vicinity of a storage shed. They immediately contacted 911 for police assistance.
This case is being investigated as a homicide. The victim has been identified as Jerusha L. Christie, age 27, of Poughkeepsie, New York.
