Poughkeepsie man charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated

Wappinger Falls, New York – On March 14, 2015, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Hunter Caston, 32 years old, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree, both Class E Felonies.

Troopers stopped the vehicle Caston was operating after it was observed passing a red traffic signal. While interviewing Caston, Troopers observed clues that indicated he was intoxicated at the time of the stop.

Following an investigation, it was discovered that Caston was driving the vehicle despite having a revoked driver’s license. He was charged with Felony DWI and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation when it was discovered that he was previously convicted of a DWI related offense.

Caston was arraigned in the Village of Wappinger Falls Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond. He is schedule to return to the Village Court at a later date.
