Pawling man arrested for Felony Driving While Intoxicated, Criminal Possession of a Weapon

Southeast, New York – On March 14, 2015, New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested 19-year-old Andres F. Valencia, of Pawling, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree, both Class E Felonies. Valencia was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

At approximately 6:56 a.m., Troopers were dispatched to Stallion Trail in the Town of Southeast for a suspicious vehicle complaint. Troopers arrived on scene and located a 2003 Toyota stopped in the roadway, impeding traffic. The Driver of the vehicle, identified as Valencia, was sleeping behind the wheel. While interviewing the defendant, Troopers observed clues that indicated he was intoxicated. Valencia was also found to unlawfully possess an electronic stun gun.

Investigation revealed that Valencia was operating the vehicle despite having a revoked driver’s license. He was charged with Felony DWI and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation when it was discovered that he was convicted of a DWI related offense in 2013.

Valencia was arraigned before the Town of Southeast Justice Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. He is schedule to return to the Town of Southeast Court on April 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
