BEEKMAN – Robert J. Kelly, III, 43, a resident of the Town of Beekman since 2001, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at his home.
Rob was employed as a Police Officer with the Westchester County Police Department until his retirement in 2014. He was a member of the Police Emerald Society of Westchester and LaGrange Council #13378, Knights of Columbus. He was a parishioner of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He also volunteered with the Sparrow’s Nest and was a former firefighter with the Lake Mohegan Fire Department. Rob was an avid fan of the New York Islanders, Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees and Hudson Valley Renegades, but more than anything he loved spending time with his family.
Born in Sleepy Hollow on May 18, 1971, he was the son of Linda Kelly and the late Robert J. Kelly, Jr. On October 20, 2001, Rob married Patrice Joyce who survives at home. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Robert, Keira, Sean and Cayden; his brother Craig Kelly and his wife Candice; and his nephews and niece, Geiovanni, Craig Jr. (Godson), Colin and Madeleine.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
