Ossining man charged following investigation at Sing Sing Correctional Facility

On September 13, 2017, members of the New York State Police, Troop K SP Hawthorne BCI, arrested a civilian vocational instructor employed by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) at the Sing Sing Correctional Facility, located in Ossining, NY.  State Police conducted an investigation into the employee, Ronald Cherry, age 59, of Ossining, NY, after DOCCS staff found a Mr. Cherry in possession of two 16.9 ounce water bottles filled with an alcoholic beverage while within the correctional facility.  Mr. Cherry was arrested and issued an appearance ticket for the offense of Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor).  He is scheduled to reappear to the Village Of Ossining Court on September 26, 2017 at 9:00 am.
