The Connecticut Audubon Society leads guided bird walks at  the Deer Pond Farm sanctuary in Sherman.

Join the Connecticut Audubon Society at Deer Pond Farm in Sherman to take in the colors of the forest in the hills of northern Fairfield County. Things are “looking up” as we search for migrating birds and learn about the changing colors of the deciduous trees in our newest sanctuary.

This 2-3 mile hike over moderate hilly terrain is offered on Saturday mornings Sept. 23 and Oct. 7 beginning at 9 a.m. Plan on 2 to 3 hours. Dress for the weather; walk is cancelled if it rains. Bring binoculars, camera and a sense of adventure!

Guided walks at Deer Pond Farm are free for CAS members, $5/walk for non-members. Reservations are required. To register, visit www.ctaudubon.org/deer-pond-farm, or call: 860-799-4074, x105.
