New York man charged with possessing methamphetamine

Southeast, New York – On September 10, 2017, New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested 45-year-old Todd A. Balzano of New York, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, a Class C Felony, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.

Troopers observed an Audi A7 located in a business parking lot off of Route 6 and stopped to check the welfare of the driver.   While the Trooper interviewed the driver, identified as Balzano, they observed an odor of marihuana emanating from the vehicle.  Following a search conducted by State Police K9 Graydon, Balzano was found to possess crystal methamphetamine and marihuana.

Balzano was arraigned in the Town of Southeast Justice Court before the Honorable Judge Vercollone and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.  He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Southeast Court on September 19, 2017.
