Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro has ordered flags on all County facility buildings to be lowered at half-staff following the death of Information Systems Technician 2nd Class Corey George Ingram, a 28-year-old City of Poughkeepsie resident assigned to the USS John S. McCain. County Executive Molinaro issued the following statement: “We are deeply saddened to learn Dutchess County native Corey George Ingram died while serving our country in the United States Navy aboard the USS John S. McCain. Corey is an American hero who admirably defended his nation, selflessly giving of himself to protect his neighbors here in Dutchess and throughout America. The freedom we enjoy does not come freely; courageous men and women like Corey serve valiantly, ensuring our safety and preserving our liberty. Corey gave his life for his country, leaving a legacy of bravery, honor and duty, and we are forever indebted to him and his family for his service and sacrifice. Our thoughts and prayers are with his parents, Jacqueline, one of our own Dutchess County employees, and Hubert, as well as his friends, loved ones and all those who serve this nation. In honor of his service and sacrifice, flags on all County offices will be lowered to half-staff.”
