The Pawling Resource Center Thanks Volunteers

On August 16th the Pawling Resource Center held its annual Volunteer Recognition event, to thank the many volunteers who make the PRC services possible.  More than fifty volunteers, staff and Board members gathered at Christ Church on Quaker Hill at 8:30 am for a breakfast to celebrate their many hours donated in service to the community.  Speakers included Rev. Jon Ellingworth, Chair of the PRC Board for the last five years, Board member Rev. Mark Allen, and Terry Ariano, Executive Director.

Certificates and small gifts of appreciation were handed out, as well as special recognition for those volunteers who have been especially generous with their time.  Office volunteers Betty Slocum, Jamie Stone and Michelle DePalma provided many hours working in the food pantry, answering phones, assisting requests for medical equipment and entering data for the many reports. Drivers Nick Robertshaw, Beverly Fong and MaryAnn Anderson drove the most miles in transporting clients to medical appointments, which with all other PRC drivers totaled 24,420 miles in the last year!

The Pawling Resource is able to offer the variety and scope of services it provides only because of the many volunteers who assist in many ways.  Anyone interested in volunteering may contact the PRC at 845-855-3459 or log onto the web site at http://pawlingresourcecenter.org for further information.
