Cortlandt, New York – On February 1, 2015, New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested 32-year-old Crystal A. Gibbs, of Peekskill, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.

Troopers were dispatched to investigate a property damage auto accident that occurred on State Route 9. When they arrived at the scene, they located Gibbs asleep at the wheel. While speaking with her, she displayed clues that indicated she was intoxicated.

When Troopers noted extensive damage to the Hyundai Gibbs was operating that did not appear consistent with the crash they were investigating, they contacted area police departments and asked if they were investigating any hit-and-run auto crashes. Ossining Police Department reported that they had investigated a total of three hit-and-run crashes where a Hyundai was identified as the suspect vehicle.

Gibbs was issued traffic tickets ordering her to appear before the Town of Cortlandt Court on February 13, 2015.
