Obituary, Brian Patrick Darnell

Brian Patrick Darnell, 75, Passed away Saturday March 7, 2015 after a prolonged and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Queens, NY on April 21, 1939 to John and Yvonne Darnell, Brian and his family moved to Amenia, NY in 1954 where he attended Webutuck High School. In November, 1958 he enlisted in the U. S. Army where he served his country honorably until February, 1962. While stationed in France he met and married Claudine Harmand. Together they had two children: a son Franck and daughter Patsy. Brian was part owner of a restaurant in Slidell, La. He then returned to New York where he retired as an estate manager in Millbrook. He moved to California to be near his children. He lived with his daughter Patsy, where he peaceably passed surrounded by family and friends.

Brian is survived by his son, Franck Darnell (Bonnie) of Corona, Ca and daughter, Patsy Di Carlo (Jeff) of Chino, Ca, brothers: John Darnell (Marilyn) of Millbrook, NY and Stephen Darnell of Amenia, NY; his sisters: Mary Cooper (Robert) of Pine Plains, NY and Judy Potocki

(Tom) of Swanzey, NH, his six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He made us smile often and laugh more.

He will be greatly missed. Brian was preceded in death by his parents and his loving brother, Michael. A military funeral will be held in his honor at 11:45 am on March 26, 2015 at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
