Amenia man charged with Driving While Intoxicated and drug possession following traffic stop

PRESS RELEASE

Amenia, New York – On March 7, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Dover barracks arrested Neil A. Jordan, 60 years old, of Amenia, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, a Class D Felony, Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.

Troopers stopped a vehicle traveling on State Route 343 for speeding. Following an investigation, it was discovered that the driver of the vehicle, Jordan, was found to be in possession of cocaine, marihuana, and was intoxicated at the time of the stop.

Jordan supplied police with a breath sample revealing a Blood Alcohol Content of .13% and was arraigned before the Town of Amenia Justice Court. He was released on his own recognizance and ordered to re-appear before the Town of Amenia Court on March 16, 2015.
