Poughkeepsie man arrested for violating order of protection

PRESS RELEASE

Wappinger, New York – On March 10, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested Paul S. Mahlmeister, 29 years old, of Poughkeepsie, New York, charging him with Criminal Contempt 1st Degree, a Class E Felony, and Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Subsequent to an investigation, it was discovered that Mahlmeister violated a court order of protection by entering the protected party’s home on the night of
March 9, 2015.

Mahlmeister was charged with Criminal Contempt 1st Degree after a criminal history check revealed that he was previously convicted of Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree in October of 2014.

Mahlmeister was arraigned in the Town of Wappinger Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. He is due to re-appear in Wappinger Court on March 16, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.
