Obituary, Thomas P. Conway

 

 

Thomas P. Conway, 78, a resident of Holmes, NY since 1978, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at The New York State Veterans Home at Montrose, Montrose, NY.

Born in the Bronx on December 11, 1938 to the late Lawrence and Mary (Manion) Conway, he served in the US Airforce from 1958-61, and married Caroline Kostner in the Bronx on October 16, 1974.

Tom was a union carpenter in Local 1138 in Mount Kisco and had served as a union delegate and shop steward. Tom was also a member of the Harlem Valley Lodge F & AM.

Tom enjoyed boxing, spending time with his family, and he loved animals.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline, of Holmes; his son, Brian of Poughkeepsie; two daughters, Lauren Weber and her husband, Wendel, of Holmes and Meaghan Conway of Orono, ME; two brothers, John Conway and his wife, Evelyn, of Toledo, OH and Lawrence Conway of Seattle, WA; and a sister, Mary Acevedo of the Bronx.

Family and friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, Sunday, May 7, 2017 3-7 PM. The F & AM Oblong Lodge 666 will conduct a service at the funeral home at 6:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 8th at 10 AM at St. John’s Church, 39 East Main Street, Pawling.

Burial will be private.
