Obituary, Harry E. Grey

Dover Plains – Harry E. Grey, age 86, of Dover Plains, New York, died Sunday, March 8, 2015, in Kent, Connecticut. Harry was born February 27, 1929 in Poughkeepsie, New York. to Harry and Minnie (McIntyre) Grey. He attended schools in the Dover New York area. Harry married Eva L. Williams on October 17, 1958 at the Patterson Presbyterian Church. They made their home in Wingdale, NY, where Harry had lived all his life, until they moved to Dover Plains in 1995. Mrs. Williams died March 4, 2007.

Harry was a section worker for the New York Central Railroad out of Dover Plains, NY before working as a machine operator for the Pawling rubber corporation in Pawling, NY for 43 years, retiring in 1995. In addition to having a great sense of humor, Harry was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed both fishing and wood crafting. Harry had been an avid bowler when working for the Pawling rubber corporation.

Harry is survived by his brothers Kenneth Grey and his wife Peggy of Pawling, NY and Raymond Grey of Stuart, Florida; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Harry is also survived by sisters and brothers in law including June Williams of Pawling, NY. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Richard Grey and Donald Grey and a sister Lois Barto.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 7 p.m. at 23 South Street, Patterson, NY. A private burial will take place on Friday. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. contributions in Harry’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society.
