Rise in Anti-Semitism is Focus of Lecture at DCC

April 12, 2017 – Dutchess Community College will welcome Evan Bernstein, New York regional director of the Anti-Defamation League, for a lecture called “Anti-Semitism: Global to Local” on April 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the James and Betty Hall Theatre in Dutchess Hall.

The focus of Bernstein’s lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be the current rise of anti-Semitism and the spread of hate in all forms. His remarks will be part of a YomHashoah commemoration to honor the lives of the approximately six million Jews who died in the Holocaust. Bernstein is quoted regularly in local and national news sources about issues related to civil rights, anti-Semitism and boycott, divestment and sanction efforts against Israel.

Bernstein was invited to campus by Dr. Werner Steger, DCC history professor and recipient of the Greenspan Trust-Handel Foundation Endowed Chair in Holocaust and Genocide Studies.

Guests should park in Lot A on Pendell Road or Lot D on Cottage Road.
