Amenia woman arrested following disturbance at Webutuck Middle School

PRESS RELEASE

Amenia, New York – On March 6, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Dover barracks arrested Teresa A. Lovett, 53 years old, of Amenia, New York, for Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree, a Class B Misdemeanor, and Disorderly Conduct, a Violation.

Troopers were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to the Webutuck Middle School for a report of a parent causing a disturbance. Following a meeting with school administrators, Lovett became irate and used profane language. Lovett was instructed to leave school property and she failed to comply, prompting school staff to contact 911 for assistance. Lovett vacated school property prior to police arriving on scene.

Lovett was located a short time later at her Town of Amenia home and placed in custody for Trespassing on school grounds.

Lovett was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Cordelle and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. She is scheduled to re-appear in the Town of Northeast Court on March 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
