ARRESTS: Members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office report the arrest of Alycia Canfield, 29, of Kingston, Joseph Petras, 30, of Kingston, Casey Kurtz, 24, of Kingston and Erik Fehring, 29, of Stone Ridge following a burglary in progress at the Capri Motel in the Town of Esopus.

On April 02, 2017 deputies responded to a burglary in progress at the Capri Motel involving a knife. A vehicle matching the description of the one which fled the scene was soon located. Further investigation led to the arrest of the four people involved.

Ms. Canfield was charged with the misdemeanor of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree. Mr. Petras was charged with the felony of Robbery in the Third Degree and the misdemeanors of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree and Possessing an Imitation Controlled Substance. Mr. Kurtz was charged with the felony of Robbery in the Third Degree. Mr. Fehring was charged with the misdemeanors of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Possessing an Imitation Controlled Substance.

Mr. Petras, Mr. Kurtz and Mr. Fehring were arraigned in the Town of Esopus Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail, Mr. Petras and Mr. Kurtz in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 secured bond and Mr. Fehring in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $3,000 secured bond. Ms. Canfield was released with traffic tickets.
