State Police arrest Lake Peekskill man for felony DWAI Drugs

Mount Pleasant, New York – On March 20, 2017, New York State Police from the Hawthorne barracks arrested 30-year-old Carlos A. Perez of Lake Peekskill, New York, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a Class E Felony.

Troopers stopped to assist the Town of Greenburgh Police Department with a traffic stop on the Sprain Brook Parkway.  The driver of the vehicle, Perez, was stopped for erratic operation and found to be impaired by drugs.

Perez was evaluated by a State Police Drug Recognition Expert who confirmed his inability to safely operate a motor vehicle due to impairment.

The defendant was charged with felony DWAI Drugs when a criminal history revealed a previous DWI related conviction from 2011.  Perez was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Mount Pleasant Court on April 13, 2017.
