Greetings Art Lovers:

Greetings Art Lovers:
Here is a wonderful note that I’d like to share from Karen Gersch, one of our member artists who was compelled to write after joining and becoming involved with Arts Mid-Hudson.
“I am very pleased to be part of the Arts Mid-Hudson organization; have been impressed with your involvement and coverage of all the arts, and how much you accomplish and promote artists. My husband (a silversmith and jeweler) and I moved to Orange County a few years ago, but it wasn’t until I gave up my longtime loft-studio in NYC last spring, that I have been here full time.”
Karen’s background as a founding member of both the Big Apple Circus and Vermont’s Circus Smirkus, shows in her work. While on tour, Karen kept copious sketch journals of the acts, the artists and of life on the road. Her own physical training and performing expertise helps her define the skills she captures so succinctly on paper and canvas – you can see some of Karen’s work on her webpage.
While not everyone reading this email is an artist, consider becoming a member to support the professionals that ensure that our local artists can thrive through their work.
And now, what is happening in the Mid-Hudson region this weekend? It’s Newburgh’s Last Saturday – many art spaces have openings and special events beginning with Newburgh Open Movement with Ophra Wolf of Force & Flow, (1:00-2:00 p.m.) followed by an open jam featuring live music with Peter Fagiola and Craig Chin, (2:00-4:00 p.m.) at the Safe Harbors Lobby at the Ritz 107 Broadway, Newburgh.
