Peekskill man arrested following domestic dispute

Cortlandt, New York – On March 7, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Cortlandt barracks charged Kenneth J. Miller, 27 years old, of Peekskill, New York, with Criminal Contempt 1st Degree, a Class E Felony, Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, also a Class A Misdemeanor.

On March 6, 2015, Troopers were dispatched to a physical domestic incident that occurred at a Town of Cortlandt residence. Investigation revealed that Miller choked the victim following a verbal dispute. Miller violated an active court order of protection by having contact with the victim during the domestic incident.

Miller fled the home prior to police arriving on scene.

On March 7, 2015, Troopers located Miller and placed him in custody for Criminal Contempt 1st Degree and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing. When police learned that Miller had returned to the victim’s home on March 7th, he was additionally charged with Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree.

Miller was arraigned before the Town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to reappear in Cortlandt Court on March 9, 2015.
