Dutchess County Stabilization Center Grand Opening on Thursday

 

Poughkeepsie… Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro will host local, county and state officials on Thursday, March 16 at 11 a.m. for the grand opening of the County’s new Stabilization Center, the only facility of its kind in New York State – a walk-in facility for individuals who need immediate assistance coping with mental health issues and/or substance abuse, helping them avoid emergency rooms or even jail.

The Stabilization Center, located at 230 North Road in Poughkeepsie, is a unique partnership between Dutchess County Government, MidHudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center,  Astor Services for Children & Families, Mid-Hudson Addiction Recover Centers, and PEOPLe, Inc.

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Stabilization Center is 100 percent voluntary and open to guests of all ages. Residents can receive crisis counseling, mental health assessments substance abuse counseling and referrals to community-based services, among other services, at the Stabilization Center.
