Ulster County Sheriff’s Office Report

Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office report the arrest of Elvis J. Gonzalez, 23 years old, of New Paltz, NY.

Mr. Gonzalez was charged with the violation of Disorderly Conduct, the violation of Harassment in the second degree, and the Misdemeanor of Resisting Arrest.

On March 7, 2015 at approximately 2:43 am, Deputies observed Mr. Gonzalez engaged in a physical altercation with another male. Deputies and the Town of New Paltz Police Department attempted to separate the two males and in doing so Mr. Gonzalez physically resisted when police attempted to place him in custody.

Mr. Gonzalez was then brought back to the Wallkill Sub-station for arrest processing. During the arrest processing Mr. Gonzalez did take a garbage can lid and threw the same at a deputy striking him in the leg.

Mr. Gonzalez was arraigned in the Town of New Paltz Court by the Honorable Judge Katz where $500.00 cash bail $1,500.00 bond was set. Mr. Gonzalez is due to reappear in the Town of New Paltz Court on March 11, 2015 at 6:00 pm.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Town of New Paltz Police Department.

Deputies of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office report the arrest of John S Nichols, 53 years old of Kingston, NY

Mr. Nichols was charged with the Misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated (first offense), and the Traffic Violations of Failing to Maintain Lanes and Consuming Alcoholic Beverages in a Motor Vehicle.

On March 7, 2015, Deputies responded to the area of Atwood Rd and Johnson Rd in the Town of Marbletown for the report of a vehicle stuck in a ditch. The vehicle was removed prior to the arrival of the deputies, but through investigation, it was learned the vehicle in question was being operated by Mr. Nichols while he was in a intoxicated condition.

Mr. Nichols was taken into custody, and transported to UCSO Wawarsing Substation for processing, where he refused to submit to a chemical breath test.

Mr. Nichols was then arraigned in the Town of Marbletown Court, where his license was taken and he was released on his own recognizance, to return on March 23, 2015 at 5:00pm.

Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office report the arrest of Salvatore J. Mantione, 32 years old, of Middletown, NY.

Mr. Mantione was charged with the Misdemeanors of Unlawful Possession of Noxious Matter and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree and the Violation of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.

On March 6, 2015 at approximately 11:30 PM, Deputies were handling a car vs. deer accident on Bruynswick Road in the Town of Gardiner when a vehicle passed the Deputy at an extremely high rate of speed, almost striking the Deputy. The vehicle was located at the intersection of Bruynswick Road and Route 44/55 crashed into a snowbank. One male was immediately detained and another male, later identified as Mr. Mantione, fled on foot. Mr. Mantione was located a short time later attempting to hide on a nearby property and taken into custody. Mr. Mantione was found to be in possession of marihuana, as well as a spray canister containing tear gas.

Mr. Mantione was arraigned in the Town of Gardiner Court and released on his own recognizance to reappear at a later date.

Deputies report the arrest of Joseph P Gugliucci, 60 year old, of 134 Laconia Ave Staten Island, NY.

Mr. Gugliucci was charged with the misdemeanors of Stalking in the 4th degree and Reckless Endangerment. He was also charged with the violations of Trespass and Harassment 2nd.

On March 6, 2015 deputies received a complaint from a woman stating that an ex-boyfriend was making unwanted phone calls to her. While deputies were attempting to locate Mr. Gugliucci he went to the complainants home. It is alleged that while at the residence Mr. Gugliucci was throwing items at the house and trying to gain entry. Responding units arrested Mr. Gugliucci at the complainants house.

Mr. Gugliucci was arraigned in the Town of Esopus Court and remanded to the Ulster Co. Jail to return on March 10, 2015.

Deputies were assisted by Town of Rosendale Police And NY State Police.

Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office report the arrest of Raymond M Edwards age 41 of the Colonial Motel following an investigation into his whereabouts and obligations to register his address as a sex offender.

Mr. Edwards was charged with the felonies of Failure to Notify Change of Address (2counts) and Offering a False Instrument for Filing.

On February 13, 2015 Edwards moved from his room at the Colonial Motel into a motel in the Town of Ulster. He failed to notify the Sheriff’s Office and the Sex Offender Registry of his change of address. On March 2, 2015 Edwards moved back to the Colonial Motel. He Contacted the Sheriff’s Office and filed for a change of address. On the change of address form he indicated that he was moving from one motel room to another on the same property omitting that he ever moved to the motel in the Town of Ulster. On March 6, 2015 Mr. Edwards contacted the Sheriff’s Office again to advise that he returned to the Colonial Motel and he was available to have his address verified. The Sheriff’s Office responded and located Edwards in a motel room.

Edwards was arrested on the felony charges listed above. He was processed at the Wawarsing substation then brought before the Honorable Judge Greco in the Town of Esopus Court for arraignment. Mr. Edwards was sent to the Ulster County Jail with no bail.
