Obituary, Gary R. Keeler

 

 

Pine Plains, NY – Gary R. Keeler, 66, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at home in Pine Plains, NY.

He was born on February 20, 1951 in Rhinebeck, NY the son of the late George J. and Norma (Morrissey) Keeler Sr.

At the time of his passing, Gary was the Superintendent of water for the Town of Pine Plains. He started his career at DeLaval in Poughkeepsie and then worked for IBM until he purchased his own business, CT Glass in Red Hook, NY. After selling CT Glass, he simultaneously was the building inspector for the village of Rhinebeck and drove bus for the Pine Plains Central School.

He was very active member in the Pine Plains Lions Club, having served as Past President, Past Chairman of Barbecue and Past Chairman of Reservations. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing drums in the Sole Distributor Band.

On May 25, 1974 in Millbrook, NY he married JoAnn (Travis) Keeler. She survives him at home.

In addition to his loving wife JoAnn of forty two years, survivors include two daughters, Jennifer (William Stutz) ) Brown of Red Hook, NY; Heather (Keith) Massimo of Redding, CT; his loving grandchildren, Hailey, Carter, Harrison, Colton and Lincoln; mother-in-law, Barbara Gurbel of Pine Plains, NY; three brothers, George J. (Ruth) Keeler of Pine Plains, NY; Gordon R. (Sandy) Keeler of Millerton, NY; Glenn D. Keeler of Stanfordville, NY; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Thursday, March 9,th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, at 7749 South Main St., Pine Plains, NY

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on Friday, March 10th, from St. Anthony’s Church, Pine Plains. A reception will follow at Lia’s Mountain View Restaurant in Pine Plains.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
