Joint investigation reveals that Fishkill man possessed a forged instrument

Fishkill, New York – On March 4, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks, with the assistance of the New York State Department of Financial Services Criminal Investigation Unit, arrested John E. Autero, 49 years old, of Fishkill, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, A Class D Felony.
Autero was arrested after police learned that he presented a counterfeit certificate of liability insurance to Rombout Village as proof of general liability insurance coverage. Following a detailed investigation, it was discovered that Autero’s business did not possess such insurance coverage.
Autero was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Village of Fishkill Court on March 30, 2015 at 9:30 a.m.
