Special Olympics – Volunteers Needed

Dear friends,

For the second straight year, Dutchess County is honored to host the Special Olympics New York State Winter Games on Feb. 17-18th. The 2016 Winter Games were a rousing success, and much of the credit goes to the 1,500-plus local volunteers – men and women who selflessly chose to #ThinkDIFFERENTLY, giving their time to set up competition venues, keep score, escort athletes or cheer them on from the stands, displaying what makes us distinctly Dutchess.

This year, with your help, the Winter Games will be even more rewarding for all involved – athletes, coaches, their families and volunteers. There are still plenty of opportunities to share your time and talents with these inspirational competitors from all across our state. I encourage you to click here and look at the various ways you can volunteer and make this event one we’ll long remember.

Last year we set the bar high, setting Special Olympics New York records for the number of volunteers and the time in which we reached our volunteer goal. This February, I know we can do even better; and I thank you in advance for your support.

Gratefully yours,
