Troop K –  In an effort to remove intoxicated and impaired drivers from the roadways throughout Columbia, Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester Counties, the New York State Police from Troop K made the following DWI arrests between Friday, January 6, 2017 and Sunday, January 8, 2017:

On January 6, 2017, New York State Police from Hawthorne arrested Daniel Hyppolite, 32 years old, of Spring Valley, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  A DOT plow operator contacted the State Police when he located Hyppolite sleeping in his vehicle in the middle lane of the Taconic State Parkway.  A welfare check conducted by police revealed that he was intoxicated.  The defendant provided a positive breath sample that yielded a blood alcohol concentration of .11%.  He is scheduled to appear in the Town of New Castle Court on January 19, 2017.

On January 6, 2017, State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested 47-year-old James A. Walker of Croton on Hudson, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Walker was found to be intoxicated following a traffic stop conducted on Albany Post Road. The defendant provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .13% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the City of Peekskill Court on January 16, 2017.

On January 6, 2017, New York State Police from Stormville charged Tyler P. Martin, 20 years old, of Fishkill, New York, with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a Misdemeanor.  Troopers stopped Martin on the Taconic State Parkway following an erratic vehicle complaint. A subsequent investigation revealed that he was impaired by drugs at the time of the traffic stop.  Martin is due to appear in the Town of East Fishkill Court on January 18, 2017.

On January 7, 2017, New York State Troopers from Poughkeepsie arrested 26-year-old Anthony J. Testerman of Wappingers Falls, NY, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Class E Felony.  Subsequent to a traffic stop conducted on Route 376 for operating a vehicle without a front plate, Testerman was found to be intoxicated. Testerman was charged with Felony DWI due to a previous DWI related conviction from 2015. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .10% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Wappinger Court on January 18, 2017.

On January 7, 2017, State Police from Poughkeepsie charged Jamie L. Reece, 25 years old, of Dover, NY, with Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Troopers stopped the vehicle Reece was operating on Haight Avenue for making an unsafe lane change.  Reece was found to be intoxicated at the time of the stop. The Defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .09% and was issued traffic tickets directing her to appear in the City of Poughkeepsie Court on February 7, 2017.

On January 7, 2017, New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested 39-year-old Eric T. Mostaccio of Philmont, New York, for Aggravated DWI, a Misdemeanor.  Mostaccio was arrested for DWI following a traffic stop conducted on Route 217 for an inadequate headlamp.  The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .22% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Claverack Court on January 17, 2017.

On January 7, 2017, New York State Police from Somers charged 28-year-old Oscar Duarte of Yorktown, New York, with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and Resisting Arrest.  Subsequent to a traffic stop conducted for an equipment violation, Duarte was found to be intoxicated.  While Troopers administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Duarte ran off into a wooded area.  Following a brief foot pursuit, Duarte was placed in custody.  The defendant supplied police with a breath sample yielding a Blood Alcohol Content of .18% and was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Somers Court on January 9, 2017.

On January 7, 2017, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested 28-year-old Nyquan A. Bellamy, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for DWI, a Misdemeanor.  Bellamy was charged with DWI following a traffic stop conducted on Janet Drive for an equipment violation. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .10% and was issued traffic tickets to the Town of Poughkeepsie Court on February 7, 2017.

On January 7, 2017, the New York State Police from Poughkeepsie arrested Kelsey N. O’Keefe, age 26, of Danbury, Connecticut, for DWI, a Misdemeanor.  Trooper stopped the vehicle O’Keefe was operating on Main Street for an equipment violation. An investigation revealed that she was intoxicated.  The defendant supplied a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .12% and was issued traffic tickets directing her to appear in the Village of Brewster Justice Court on January 23, 2017.

On January 7, 2017, New York State Police from Poughkeepsie arrested Tekoah O. Moody, age 31, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for DWI, a misdemeanor.  Moody was stopped by police for failing to signal as he turned into the parking lot of Hudson River Housing.  A subsequent investigation revealed that he was intoxicated at the time of the stop. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .10% and was directed to appear in the Town of LaGrange Court on January 17, 2017.

On January 7, 2017, New York State Police from the East Fishkill barracks arrested 23-year-old Laura M. Betancourth, of Southbury, CT, for Driving While Intoxicated.  Betancourth was arrested for DWI following a traffic stop conducted on Interstate 84 for speeding. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .12%.  The defendant is due to appear in the Town of Southeast Court on January 26, 2017.

On January 7, 2017, 61-year-old Michael E. Glennon, of New Fairfield, CT, was arrested by State Police in Poughkeepsie for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Subsequent to a traffic stop conducted on Sodom Lane for an equipment violation, Glennon was arrested for DWI. The defendant provided a breath sample that yielded a BAC of .09% and was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Southeast Court on January 26, 2017.

On January 7, 2017, State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested 33-year-old Tomas Smid, of Holmes, New York, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Felony.  Troopers stopped the vehicle Smid was driving on Route 22 for not having the vehicle’s headlights illuminated. The defendant was found to be intoxicated at the time of the stop.  Smid provided a breath sample that revealed a BAC of .22%.  Smid was charged with felony DWI when a criminal history revealed a previous DWI related conviction from 2008. He was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Southeast Court on January 26, 2017.

On January 8, 2017, State Police from Wappinger charged John Barberan, 51 years old, of Fishkill, NY, with Driving While Intoxicated, a Felony.  Troopers stopped the vehicle Berberan was operating on Main Street in Fishkill and he was found to be intoxicated at the time of the stop. Barberan was charged with Felony DWI when Troopers discovered that he was convicted of a DWI related offense in 2009.  The Defendant was arraigned in the Village of Wappinger Falls Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $3,000 bond.

On January 8, 2017, New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested 36-year-old Victor A. Cutzal Xinic of Brewster, New York, for DWI, a Misdemeanor.  Xinic was arrested for DWI following a traffic stop conducted Oak Street for failing to keep right and window tint.  The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .10%.  He was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Village of Brewster Court on January 23, 2017.

On January 8, 2017, New York State Police from the Stormville barracks arrested 46-year-old Joseph Silicato, of LaGrange, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Troopers stopped Silicato on the Taconic State Parkway for operating a vehicle with an inoperable tail lamp.  An investigation revealed that Silicato was intoxicated at the time of the stop.  The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .13% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of East Fishkill Court on January 17, 2017.

Intoxicated and impaired drivers put others at risk.  It is a priority of the State Police to keep impaired drivers off of our roadways so law-abiding citizens can safely travel throughout our four county patrol area.
