A serious crash involving four vehicles in New York’s Hudson Valley has led to the arrest of a 33-year-old man from Beacon, who now faces multiple charges, including felony vehicular assault and DWI. The collision occurred late Wednesday night in the town of Fishkill, leaving several injured—one critically.
Route 9 Collision Triggers Emergency Response
According to a press release from the New York State Police, the incident took place on Wednesday, July 23, at approximately 9:23 PM on Route 9 in Fishkill. Emergency responders, including state and local police, firefighters, and EMS personnel, rushed to the scene following reports of a multi-vehicle crash.
The investigation revealed that the driver of a white 2000 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck was traveling southbound when he crossed into the northbound lane, striking three separate vehicles before coming to a stop in the roadway.
One Woman Airlifted with Serious Injuries
The crash caused significant damage and injuries to multiple victims:

Vehicle 2: A 2011 Chevrolet driven by Christopher L. Weston, 37, of Wappinger Falls, was hit on the front driver’s side. Fortunately, Weston was not injured.

Vehicle 3: A 2013 Mini Cooper, operated by a 61-year-old woman from South Salem, sustained major damage. The driver was entrapped in the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. She was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center for advanced treatment.

Vehicle 4: A 2023 Volkswagen carrying three juveniles sustained minor damage. All three young passengers were taken to Vassar Brothers Medical Center and Westchester Medical Center for evaluation of minor injuries.
The suspected driver, who caused the crash, was also transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Suspect Faces Multiple Felony Charges
Following the investigation, New York State Police arrested the 33-year-old Beacon man on a series of serious charges:
