Bronx Man arrested for Arson

The New York State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Daniel T. Keddis, a 23 year old from the Bronx, New York, for Arson 2nd, a Felony and Reckless Endangerment 1st, a Felony.

On December 23, 2016 Members of SP Ellenville, SP Highland, SP Middletown and the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the Town of Shawangunk for a naked individual attempting to burn down a residence.  Further investigation revealed Keddis used an excellerant and lit an occupied residence on fire.  In the process of lighting the residence on fire Keddis unintentionally lit himself on fire.

On December 23, 2016 Keddis was located near the scene and arrested for Arson 2nd and Reckless Endangerment 1st.  Keddis was arraigned in the Town of Gardiner Court in front of Town Justice Robert Rich.  Keddis was remanded to Ulster County Jail on $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 secure bond.  Keddis to appear in the Town of Shawangunk Court on December 27, 2016 at 7:00 PM.
