WASHINGTON, D.C. — A late-night shooting in Northeast Washington, D.C., left one man injured and caused significant property damage as bullets struck multiple cars and homes. The incident occurred on Wednesday night, July 24, 2025, and is under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
Man Found Shot on Benning Road
Police say they responded to a call just before midnight in the 1500 block of Benning Road, NE, where they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was found unconscious but breathing, and emergency crews transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition has not yet been updated.
Bullets Strike Homes and Vehicles
The violence extended beyond the victim, with multiple vehicles visibly damaged by gunfire in the vicinity. In addition, at least two homes sustained damage, including bullet holes in walls and shattered windows.
Photos from the scene show vehicles with shattered glass and bullet marks, underscoring the dangerous and chaotic nature of the shooting.
Suspects Armed and at Large
Authorities are actively searching for two male suspects, both described as wearing dark clothing at the time of the shooting. According to witnesses and police reports, one suspect was armed with a rifle and the other with a handgun.
No arrests have been made, and investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating the individuals involved.
