Catskill man arrested for felony drug possession following traffic stop

Ghent, New York – On February 28, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Livingston barracks arrested Johnny J. Colon, 41 years old, of Catskill, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, a Class D Felony.

Colon was stopped by police for failing to use a turn signal 100 feet before turning onto County Route 21 from Route 66. Troopers interviewed Colon and observed an odor of marihuana emanating from the vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed that Colon was in possession of approximately 2.6 grams of cocaine.

Colon was arraigned before the Town of Ghent Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear before the Town of Ghent Court on March 9, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
