Obituary, Mildred Maycock Kinney

Mildred Maycock Kinney went to be with the Lord on October 22, 2016. Mildred was born in New York City to the late Ernest and Maud Maycock and spent her formative years in Millbrook, New York. She has been an active resident of Woodland Terrace in Cary for the past 2 ½ years; but, a resident of Cary for 18 years. Previous to moving to Cary, she lived in Lynchburg, Virginia for 37 years where she and her late husband, Paul raised their two children.

Mildred will be remembered for her love of her Lord, Jesus, devotion to family, treasuring her church, caring for friends, a compassionate heart, and many acts of kindness. She never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone anytime. She loved God’s creation, walking, traveling, birds, and children of any age.

Mildred is survived by her son, Robert Kinney and his wife, Amy of Cary; daughter, Deborah Jackson and her husband, Collier of Marietta, Ga. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Chris Kinney and wife, Tiffany of Fuquay-Varina; Laura Kinney of Cary; Rebecca Kinney of Cary; Jennifer Carver and her husband, Rich of Canton, Ga; Heather Miller and her husband, Mark of Marietta, Ga; Amanda Weaver and her husband, Carl of Marietta, Ga. Additionally, she is survived by her fifteen great-grandchildren: Christian, Andrew, Matthew, Aaron, Rachel, Rebecca, and Mary Carver; Jackson, Garrett, Daniel, and Caleb Miller; and Emily, Amber, Peyton, and Bailey Weaver.

A memorial Service celebrating Mildred’s Life will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016, 10:00 am at Colonial Baptist Church, 6051 Tryon Road, Cary, NC.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Alzheimer’s Associationor to the National Parkinson Foundation.

The family would like to thank the staff of Woodland Terrace for their many acts of kindness and support to Mildred. Also, many thanks to the Open Bible Class at Colonial Baptist Church for their love and support.
