Ellenville Troopers Property Damage Investigation Nets Two DWI Arrests
State Police in Ellenville received an Ulster County 911 poll regarding a two car property damage accident on Rt. 55A in the early morning hours on today’s date. Upon arrival at the scene near the intersection with Shalom Road in the Town of Wawarsing, troopers observed two vehicles with massive damage still in the roadway. Joanne Santora, 51 yrs. of Napanoch stated that she was too tired to drive and parked her Hyundai Tuscon on the roadway. A short while later, Karl Dymond, 45 of Wawarsing was driving his Nissan X-terra on 55A and struck Santora’s vehicle in the rear. Neither of the drivers were injured. Both operators were administered field sobriety tests and taken into custody for Driving while Intoxicated. Both operators were released with tickets returnable to the Town of Wawarsing Court.
