“Persistence” Focuses on New Laws
YORKTOWN, NY – Since arriving in Albany, Freshman Senator Terrence Murphy has been an outspoken advocate against the insidious heroin epidemic that has gripped New York.  Today, the Hudson Valley Senator has released the first positive ad about New York’s progress in combating this scourge.
“Persistence” features two families who have partnered with Senator Murphy in the Hudson Valley to raise awareness, formulate answers and provide guidance for those seeking treatment.  Highlighted in the piece is new legislation passed this year authored by Senator Murphy that requires insurance companies to cover a minimum of fourteen day inpatient treatments.
Both families lost loved ones to the heroin epidemic.  As a result, they founded the Hudson Valley not-for-profit Drug Crisis In Our Backyard.  This past year Sue Salomone served alongside Senator Murphy on Governor Cuomo’s statewide task force to combat heroin and prescription opioid crisis.
