Dover Schools Alert – DEEP Mission

Dover Schools – DEEP Mission

To provide education enrichment fund that will be a permanent resource to support programs that enhance the skills and experience of students in the Dover Union Free School District.

Established by the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and a community advisory board in 2014, DEEP is a community-based effort to support projects above and beyond those paid for by local, state and federal funding. The Fund has been seeded by several generous gifts and its board now seeks to build an endowment so it can make a significant impact on educational opportunities that inspire our students.

In its first few years, as it builds an endowment, DEEP will award grants ranging from $240 to $1,500 to support projects in the arts and humanities, sciences and technology, athletics, agriculture and the environment. Teachers, administrators, staff and students, as well as community members of the Dover Union Free School District, are eligible to apply for grants. Applications will be available in April and due on May 15. All grant monies must be spent within 12 months of being awarded.
