Poughkeepsie woman charged with insurance fraud

Poughkeepsie, New York – On February 26, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks, with the assistance of the New York State Department of Financial Services Criminal Investigation Unit, arrested Colette S. Grant, age 22, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Insurance Fraud 4th Degree, a Class E Felony and Grand Larceny 4th Degree, also a Class E Felony.
Following a detailed investigation, it was discovered that subsequent to a vehicle collision, Grant had supplied false documentation to an insurance company enabling her to collect over $2,700 in insurance benefits that she was not entitled to.
Grant was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the City of Poughkeepsie Court on March 12, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.
