DCC Events to Celebrate Women’s History Month

February 27, 2015 – The Dutchess Community College annual celebration of Women’s History will feature a reading of works by female authors and a discussion on women’s health.

“Reading Women” will be held March 5 at 12:30 p.m. in room 101 of Dutchess Hall. The annual event will be hosted by Dr. Brenda Squires and Tina Iraca, professors in DCC’s English department, and will feature members of the DCC community reading peace- and/or nature-themed selections from female poets. Certified birth doula Denise Bolds will host a discussion on women’s health, pregnancy and childbirth on March 31 at 9:30 a.m. in room 106 of Falcon Hall. In addition, students from DCC’s Women’s Health class will share research projects on women’s health issues.

Both events are free and open to the public.
