Wingdale – Harry “Popi” Alden, 84, went to be with the love of his life, Betty, on August 2, 2016. He passed away at his home in Dover, New York. Harry was born December 8, 1931 in Knox, PA, the son of the late William and Flora Mays Alden. He was in the United States Army and served during the Korean War and spent time in Europe cleaning up the concentration camps from World War 2. He worked at the Harlem Psychiatric Center as a Therapy Aide as well as a cook. He later worked at the Pawling Rubber Company and finished his working years as a Bus Driver for Saftran and First Student.

Harry is survived by his “Best Buddy” and granddaughter, Mya; his two daughters Robin of Wingdale, Cindy Mihm and family of Texas and two sons Scott of Pouquagh, and Tom of Alabama; his grandchildren, Cortney, and her children Mya, Caleb, Nathan, Kiera, and Evan of Pawling, D’Arcy and her husband Marc and their children Jennifer, Nina, Marc Jr., Sofia, and Noah of Florida, and David of Auroa; his sister Mary and her husband Cleon of PA., and his sister Nellie (Louise) of Florida. Harry is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren spread across the U.S.

All services will be held at the families convenience. Harry has requested that any donations be sent to his favorite charities, AWASA, Dover First Baptist Church, Wingdale, NY 12594, or Lucky Orphan Horse Rescue, Dover Plains, NY 12522. Kenny Funeral Homes, Sharon, CT has care of arrangements.
