City of Poughkeepsie man arrested following search warrant execution

City of Poughkeepsie Arrest

 

(Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – July 29, 2016) On July 29, 2016, the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) in conjunction with the City of Poughkeepsie Police Neighborhood Recovery Unit (NRU), Members of SP Wappingers, and NYSP Special Operations Response Team, conducted a narcotics investigation which resulted in the execution of a search warrant at 16 Spoor Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY.

The search warrant resulted in the arrest of Patrick R. Belding, age of 49, a convicted felon, who was found to unlawfully possess two shotguns, one rifle, and one fully loaded, high capacity magazine for an assault weapon. The investigation also resulted in the seizure of heroin, methadone, various drug paraphernalia, and U. S. currency. Belding was charged with two counts of Criminal Sale and Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree (heroin), a class B Felony, Criminal Possession of Weapon in the 3rd Degree, a class D Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree, a class A Misdemeanor.

Belding was arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court, and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
