Obituary, Roy Charles Humeston, Jr.

Roy Charles Humeston, Jr., 76, known to all as “Hummy,” died on Friday, July 15, 2016 at his home in Dover Plains, NY.
He was born to Ruth and Roy Humeston, Sr. on November 6, 1939 in Sharon, CT. He attended Dover Schools, learned the electricians trade from his father and was a member of the Poughkeepsie International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He worked all over the United States before returning to the Harlem Valley and settling in Dover. Hummy was an avid reader, played the guitar and above all else enjoyed and appreciated nature.
Hummy is survived by his son, Thomas Fila (Carol Ann), his granddaughters, Alexa and Kate, Memphis, TN; his daughter Alexa, granddaughters, Ashley and Hailey and great-grandchildren, Sirina and Gabriel. He is also survived by his sister, Joan Humeston Newman of Wappingers Falls, his cousin, Joseph Humeston of Southington, CT and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Claire Maholchic and Betsy Simpson.
