Margaret A. Burke, 87, of Sharon, CT and formerlyDover Plains, NY died on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Sharon Health Care Center in Sharon, CT. Ms. Burke was a switchboard operator of AT&T and was also an administrative secretary at JC Penney.
Born on July 26, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Morrissey) Burke. Ms Burke enjoyed crocheting, wrapping gifts and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Cruise of Dobbs Ferry, NY, two nephews, Stephen and John Cruise, Jr. both of Dover Plains, NY and a niece, Margaret Cruise-Strauss of Surprise, AZ.
Calling hours will be held on from 9 to 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 4 Lavelle Rd., Amenia, NY. Burial will take place at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in Bronx, NY.
