Poughkeepsie – Today, heaven opened its gates and welcomed our angel after a courageous battle with cancer. Susan was a beautiful wife, loving mother, and great friend to many people. She was married to Wayne Thompson on June 16, 1984 and was able to see her 32nd wedding anniversary this year. They made their home on 17 Hasbrouck Drive in Poughkeepsie from their wedding to present and raised their family there. They have 3 wonderful children – Peder 28, Catherine 23, and Anna 19, all of whom attended Spackenkill schools. Susan was especially proud of her children and attended all of their school and sports activities and could often be heard cheering for them from the stands.

Susan worked at Pawling Corp for 27 years before moving to her new job at Dymax Corp in Torrington, CT. She was a workaholic and took great pride in every project she was involved in. She served with pride on many local boards such as the LEPC, Friends of the Great Swamp, and the Workforce Investment Board. She loved her community and strived to make it a better place.
