Statement from Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro

on Today’s Celebration of the 75th Anniversary

of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library & Museum

“Franklin Delano Roosevelt led us through the Great Depression, mobilized this arsenal of democracy to help save a world at war, transformed the political landscape for generations to follow and never forgot his beloved Dutchess County. Today, we celebrate this first Presidential Library and the amazing impact it has had on our history and economy. FDR helped to define America’s place in the world and his home and library has helped to define our region and the community we call home.  Dutchess County celebrates its favorite son – one of America’s greatest presidents – and thanks all those who have told and retold FDR’s impact on the world and made his home and library such a remarkable treasure here in our community along the banks of the majestic Hudson River.”
