City Of Kingston man arrested for Burglary, Assault, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and DWI

PRESS RELEASE

On 02/23/15, SP Highland BCI arrested 30 year old, Byron L Terpening, of Kingston, NY for Burglary in the Second Degree (a class C felony), Driving While Intoxicated – Felony, and for the misdemeanors charges of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, Assault in the Third Degree and Possession of Burglar’s Tools.

Terpening used a pair of pliers to gain unlawful access to the victim’s residence and assaulted the victim by placing him in a chokehold. Upon leaving the scene of the burglary, Terpening’s vehicle collided with another vehicle. Terpening fled the accident scene and was later located and arrested at his residence in the City of Kingston.

Terpening was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Grieco in the Town of Esopus Court and was subsequently remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 Bail and $20,000 Bond. Terpening is set to return to Esopus Court on 02/24/15 at 5:00 pm.
